What kind of poetry is in these books?
My poetry is simple, heartfelt, and written for everyone – not just people who studied literature. You won’t find poetry that needs to be studied before it can be understood. What you will find are honest feelings about love, friendship, loss, hope, and the warmth that connects us all as human beings. If you have ever wanted to read poetry but felt like it was not written for you, these books were made with you in mind.
Who are these books written for?
Anyone with a heart. I write for people who love deeply, who have lost someone, who need a reminder that joy still exists, or who simply want to feel something real for a few minutes. My readers range from teenagers to retirees. These poems make wonderful gifts for mothers, fathers, partners, friends, and anyone going through a hard season of life.
How many poems are in each book?
Each book contains a full collection of original poems and is printed in full color with photographs throughout. Every copy also includes a complimentary bookmark. The books are a comfortable 5.5″ × 8.5″ size with stitched binding, making them easy to enjoy at home or give as a gift.
What is the difference between the three books?
Each collection tells a different story:
- The Essence of Love is dedicated to my family and closest friends. It is about the everyday moments of love we sometimes forget to notice – a smile, a hand held, a kind word sent someone’s way.
- Warmth, Care, & Feelings is a tribute to my parents and the foundation they built for our family. It is about living with an open heart, embracing the roads life takes us down, and finding beauty even in the difficult stretches.
- Heart & Soul is my most personal collection. Written as the world grew noisier and more divided, it carries more passion and urgency – a reminder that connection, love, and kindness are still within reach for all of us.
I wrote these poems the way I did because my heart ached to find a way to bring more joy, warmth, companionship, and love back into our lives. I wanted the words to be simple enough for anyone to read, yet meaningful enough to stay with them long after the page was turned.

How do I place an order?

How long does shipping take, and how much does it cost?
Most orders ship within 1–3 business days. Standard shipping within the United States typically takes 5-7 business days after your order is fulfilled. You will receive a confirmation email with tracking once your order ships. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your location.
Do you ship outside the United States?
At this time, we are primarily shipping within the United States. If you are outside the US and would like to order, please contact me at john@wordsftheart.com before placing your order and I will do my best to work something out for you.
What is your return policy?
I want you to be happy with your purchase. If your books arrive damaged or there is an issue with your order, please contact me within 14 days of receiving your package at john@wordsftheart.com and I will make it right. Because these are physical books, we are unable to accept returns simply due to a change of mind, but I will always do my best to take care of you.
Can I buy these books as a gift for someone?
Absolutely – and honestly, a book of heartfelt poetry might be one of the most meaningful gifts you can give. Whether it is for a birthday, a holiday, a loss, a celebration, or just because – these poems say the things that are sometimes hard to put into words yourself.
