My Story
About John M South
I believe that the simplest words are often the most profound. That belief is the foundation of Words From The Heart Productions.
From Customer Service to Creative Calling
For 21 years, I dedicated myself to customer service at Publix Super Markets, Inc., retiring this past March as a manager. Throughout my life, starting at age 14, I’ve always lived by a simple code: treat others as you would like to be treated. Being respectful, honest, and kind has always guided me.
I came from a wonderful, large family—seven boys and one girl, led by a dedicated military dad who later became a Methodist Minister, and a truly great mom who was the constant glue. We had a family life most kids dreamed of, and those foundations of warmth and sincerity are what I try to pour into every piece of writing.

My journey
A New Kind of Poetry
I’ve always enjoyed poetry, but I often felt that much of it was complicated, requiring an academic background to truly grasp. I decided to write poetry differently: in a simple, down-to-earth way that is easy for all hearts to feel and understand.
My best ideas often came when I sat by the water, listening to music, watching the lights, and feeling a deep sense of calm. Whether by the water, at a restaurant, or even on a plane, I write when the feeling strikes, always aiming for a heartfelt connection.
Words From The Heart: The Mission
Our world desperately needs that warmth and care again. We all share this planet, and we only get one chance at this life.
Through my books, I hope to reach out globally and remind people of the joy and strength of a smile, the power of friendship, and the beauty of a warm heart.
It might be a dream, but dreams can come true. Together, let’s share memories of happiness and joy.
