New Beginnings: Sharing My Words From The Heart
Hello, and welcome to the new home of Words From The Heart Productions!
I’m John M South, and I am truly grateful you’re here. This website — and the three poetry collections launching alongside it — represent something I’ve been working toward for a long time. Not just years of writing, but a lifetime of feeling things deeply and searching for the right words to put to them.
For years, writing was something I did quietly — capturing moments, emotions, and the simple truths that life hands us when we slow down long enough to notice. Sitting by the water, listening to music, watching the lights dance — those peaceful moments gave me the space to feel and to write. Now, after retiring this past March, I’ve finally carved out the time to share these poems with the world. And I couldn’t be more excited to do it.
Poetry for Every Heart
I’ve always believed that poetry doesn’t have to be complicated to be meaningful. In fact, I think the most powerful words are often the simplest ones — the kind that reach right into your chest and remind you of something you already knew but needed to hear again.
My goal has never been to impress. It’s been to connect. To write poems that feel less like literature and more like a conversation — something you could read on your porch in the morning, or share with someone you love, or come back to on a hard day when you need a reminder that warmth still exists in this world.
That’s what Words From The Heart is all about.
Introducing the First Three Collections
We’re launching with three books, each built around one of the threads that ties us all together as human beings.
The Essence of Love is where it all began. Written mainly for my family and closest friends, this collection is filled with poems that explore what love looks like in everyday life — a smile sent someone’s way, the warmth of holding hands, the quiet strength of simply showing up. Titles like “The Heart,” “Love Is Pure,” “The Joy of a Friend,” and “Hopes & Dreams” speak to what makes us human. In a world that often feels cold, this book is a gentle nudge to remember the simple things we’ve let ourselves forget.
Warmth, Care, & Feelings is my tribute to the people who shaped me — especially my Dad and Mom. Dad was a military man and a Methodist Minister, steady as a rock. Mom was the one who held our small army of a family together through it all. This collection is full of the warmth they gave us, and the belief that life — with all its trials and beautiful roads — is meant to be lived with open hearts. Poems like “A Peaceful Place,” “Hearts In Love,” and “There’s Beauty in Life” are an invitation to stop being afraid and start embracing the world around you.
Heart & Soul is my third collection, and perhaps my most personal. As the world grew noisier and more divided, I found myself writing with more urgency — not out of anger, but out of love. This book is a reminder that we are all still here, still capable of kindness, still built for connection. “My Light, My Sunshine,” “Heaven Sent,” “Electric Passion” — these poems carry heat, hope, and heart. They’re written for anyone who’s ever needed a reason to believe that things can get better.
Each book is full color with print and pictures, stitched binding, sized at 5½” × 8½” — and comes with a free bookmark.
A Wave of Hope, One Poem at a Time
My deepest hope is that these words bring a little warmth back into your world. We all need reminding sometimes — of the joy a smile can give, the strength that lives in kindness, and the truth that we are not as alone as the world sometimes makes us feel.
I truly believe that one person, one book, or even one poem can begin to make a change. This is my contribution. These are my words from the heart.
Thank you for being here at the start of this journey. I’m so glad you came.
